Graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Tirana, in 2002. Has participated in various training programs both domestically and abroad, obtaining the following certifications:

  • Qualification Certificate: “Accreditation of Testing Laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025:2001,” issued by the Accreditation Directorate, in 2004.
  • Qualification Certificate: “Familiarization and Use of Computer Software for Processing and Reporting Testing Results,” issued by the Construction Institute in 2006.
  • Guidelines for the Selection, Use, and Interpretation of Proficiency Testing as well as Interlaboratory Comparisons, issued by the Accreditation Directorate, in 2007.

Possesses full competencies in the field of construction and knowledge of construction products.

Has practiced her profession as a Implementation Engineer at “Theos” Ltd., Tirana, during the years 2002-2003.

Construction Specialist at the Directorate of Laboratories, Construction Institute, Tirana, in 2004. 

With 19 years of work experience at the Construction Institute, Eng. Mimoza Kola has been the Director of the Directorate of Laboratories since January 4, 2023.

 

Directorate of Laboratories

The laboratories of the Construction Institute cover testing of materials and products in the construction industry, using standard (EN-compliant) and experimental methods. In support of the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025, the quality and reliability of testing results are ensured, with a quality management system also operating in accordance with these standards.

The testing laboratories of this department are accredited by the Accreditation Directorate, Tiranë.

The laboratories provide qualified services according to client requirements for chemical and physico-mechanical analyses of raw materials and construction products such as cement, lime, construction water, concrete, metal products, mortar, plaster, various aggregates, limestone, asphalt concrete, ceramic products, and tests on concrete and reinforced concrete structures, among others.

Additionally, the laboratories provide technical consultancy services and the provision of opinions and data interpretation; services of an experimental, scientific, educational, and training nature; as well as specialized services in the field of expertise.

The laboratories carry out their activities according to an autonomous quality management system, in compliance with the Quality Manual and the specific documents of the Accreditation Directorate.

Each laboratory, according to its specialization, conducts chemical and other analyses of construction products in accordance with the “List of Products and Prices,” which is approved annually by the Governing Council of the Construction Institute.

 

The scope of activities of the Directorate of Laboratories.

The scope of activities of the Directorate of Laboratories includes services in the field of construction for quality control and the assessment of conformity/performance of products to ensure and protect public health, safety, and the environment:

  • Services in physical, geometric, chemical, and mechanical testing; static tests on structures; and petrographic examinations/descriptions,
  • Technical consultancy services and the provision of opinions and data interpretation,
  • Services in the field of conformity/performance assessment of construction products,
  • Services of an experimental, scientific, educational, and training nature,
  • Specialized services in the field of expertise.
